a great book about linguistics on the internet
about a cartographer, and his friends trying to solve a mystery from around fifteen years ago. it's got sea monsters, royalty, maps islands.
fantasy with magic in a frontier setting. also great sibling dynamics
(if you haven't already heard about it) a fantasy epic that involves incredible world building (crab!!) and great characters and also an amazing ending (it is also the first book in the series and reads very much that way)
a fantasy-steampunk juvenile fiction book that's pretty fun to read. they sail boats on the clouds!
a YA superpower book i read three years ago, and still think about Thiabault occasionaly. this book stuck in my mind.
childrens sci-fi graphic novels. great worldbuilding, I love them. there's three out now, and I want more
i went in expecting a math book, and ended up interested in quantam mechanics (also really good prose)
ya book about college admisssions, but the best part was how the characters voice shone through, but also what was actually happening could be distinguished
book about the 1962 Minnesota gubernatorial election & subsequent recount– taught me a lot about how recounts also work, and had a surprising amount of alliteration
